Tectonic Cord
Tectonic Cord, Installation, paracord, dimensions variable, 2014
Tectonic Cord explores knotting techniques as a type of connective drawing device as a way to create structure and define space on an architectural scale. The installation transformed a public dining hall into a vibrant and colorful alternate ceiling becoming a gathering space prompting new conversations and social interaction. The work injects a fanciful component into a space where people often dine in a perfunctory way.
